Product roadmap with clear milestones.
Univerce ships capability, not promises. Every milestone below is scoped to what we can build, test, and ship with multiplayer support from day one.
Milestones
Five core systems ship together as the creative baseline.
The v0 milestone delivers the integrated toolset that every Univerce session depends on — asset placement, material customization, cinematography, multiplayer, and command history. All five systems are multiplayer-safe and share a single undo/redo stack from day one.
- 1.Asset System — spawn, transform, group via collections, with server-validated placement and deletion
- 2.Material System — apply and iterate surface finishes across walls, floors, and props with instant replication
- 3.Cinematography Suite — timeline-driven camera tracks with keyframeable transform and time variables
- 4.Multiplayer Foundation (WIP) — session management, presence indicators, conflict resolution, and edit locks
- 5.Command History — per-user undo/redo stacks, moderator overrides, and memory quotas for large sessions
Design principles
Everything on the roadmap earns its place by meeting these three non-negotiable requirements.
Multiplayer-first
Every system is designed for collaboration from day one. Asset ownership, edit locks, and replication are not bolted on — they are the foundation every tool is built on top of.
Workstreams
Active areas of development grouped by delivery phase. Each workstream maps to a roadmap milestone.
Asset & Material Systems
Spawn, transform, and group assets with collections. Customize surfaces with materials that replicate instantly to all collaborators.
Cinematography Suite
Timeline camera tracks with keyframeable transform and time variables for polished cinematic showcases.
Multiplayer Foundation
Session management, presence indicators, conflict resolution, and network-safe undo/redo. Currently in implementation.
World Persistence
Chunk-based streaming, per-chunk saves, and runtime thumbnail generation so spaces outlast any single session.
External Media Pipeline
Import images, video, and audio. Supabase storage with permission tiers for sharing experiences publicly or privately.
